What did you struggle with?
I struggled with considering my design and ideas to be outside the box. It wasn’t until week 6 did it click and I started to follow research regarding UI style and data. I also struggled with the heavy readings. It is tough to motivate yourself at 8pm at night when the rest of the house is asleep, and you have already spent all day on the computer.

What do you feel your strengths were?
My strength was my determination to finish and produce a substantial design. This is not only for university but my own employment.
What did you actively enjoy?
I enjoyed exploring Figma. I also loved building my wix page and blogging. The most enjoyable part was drawing my big brown bear and building marshmallow towers with my family.
What did you struggle to engage with and why do you feel that was?
I struggled to engage with the readings and the lack of conversation/collaboration in this subject. It was nice not to fear being critiqued. However, the subject was quiet and I still question if my interpretation was on point.
Do you feel your final submission has been successful? If so, why?
I feel my final submission is successful. I have used the design thinking principles to get to a product that has greater maturity and productivity than the original. I was able to take a researched study concept such as one-thumb design and make multiple iterations to develop a robust concept. I built not only a more functional and intuitive desktop version of the UI, but I also developed the one thumb mobile app version. Taking student management for Defence personnel accessible in the field, at home and in the unit.

Can you pinpoint any areas you know that with more time or experience you could have improved upon?
Design – I am still not a scholar of design. I can now apply the process to a concept. However, being a designer and having the tools to create are still very basic.

What do you feel you can take away from this class that will serve you in the future?
I have taken an inefficient product and built a functioning wireframe design that could actually be used. I have also built skills that could be used in future employment. I have designed pictures, UI and openly exposed my endless effort to try and keep my head above water with life. I have learnt great skills that will take me to future postings and career opportunities

Thanks for reading and I hope to continue blogging life, love and the epic sagas of learning in a busy life.
